Worker’s Memorial Honors the Fallen

|
Last week
the AGC helped the Washington State Department of
Transportation pay tribute to the Worker’s Memorial. Each
spring, WSDOT holds a Worker’s Memorial to honor those
fallen workers and remind everyone about the importance of
work zone safety.
Phil Bogardus, Manager of Construction for AGC-member
Granite Northwest/Wilder was a featured speaker. He spoke
about the need for more innovation in protecting workers in
work zones and about investing money to involve the State
Patrol to a greater extent in keeping work zones safe.
The service was attended by more than 50 people, mainly
those who have lost loved ones in work zone accidents, and
paid tribute to all workers living and perished who dedicate
their lives to our roadways.
The Department of Labor and Industries is hosting a Worker’s
Memorial today (April 29) at its offices in Tumwater to
recognize all fallen workers in the state of Washington in
the past year.
